What did the ottoman empire get out of the world war 1?

Nothing but its own death. After having ruled Turkey and most of the Middle East for centuries, the Ottomans allied themselves with the losing faction in WWI. The Empire lasted another couple of years after the shooting stopped, but was basically waiting to topple over. Five Empires went into WWI, and only two came out, The British Empire and the French Republic with its colonies, an empire in all but name. The Ottoman Turks joined the Russian Romanov dynasty, the German Hohenzollern dynasty, and the Austro-Hungarian Hapsburg dynasty (another centuries old fixture of Europe) on history's trash heap.
