In world war one women did not just sit and wait for their husbands to come home...

They had to take on the jobs that the men had previously done. So this involved tough roles in a factory or maybe a mine. They had to do all of this and still look after their children and their house.

Some say women are the unsung hero's of World War One, because nothing would have run smoothly without them.

Women did many job in World War 1. They worked as nurses, operators in the signal corps, Some worked in factories making ammunition.
