Torque is the the force required to move a body about its fulcrum. The starting Torque is the force required to move the body from 0 rpm to the stipulated rpm, the Running torque is the force required to maintain the rpm.

The Starting torque is often higher than the running force.

Imagine peddling a push bike with one gear (say the one gear is a high gear), the force required to set off will be relatively high in comparison to the force you exert in order to maintain a velocity.

Why do you use capacitors on fan motors or blowers?

We use capacitor on fan motor or blower to create phase difference between two winding(Starting & running). This phase difference introduce starting torque on fan motor. Otherwise without capacitor the torque produced in positive Half cycle of AC supply is nullify by the torque produced in negative half cycle.

Is the capacitor connected in ceiling fan circuit when it is running?

No, disconnecting after providing starting torque to starting winding.

What is the difference between dynamic torque and static torque ratings?

One difference between dynamic torque and static torque is the level of difficulty to measure. Static torque is each to measure, while dynamic torque is not. This is because it requires a transfer of an electric or magnetic effect.

What is difference between speed and torque?

speed= distance per seconds & torque= revolution per seconds

Why the pull up torque is less than starting torque?

at starting or initial stage there is no acceleration,it requires more force or power to move any body during initial stage, where as in running condition,it also requires some force or power whioch is less then the imitial power.hence the starting torque is always > pull up torque

What is starting torque?

The torque which is produced during the starting of motor is simply called as starting torque.

What is the difference between max torque and breakdown torque of a electric motor?

Max torque and breakdown toarque are the same...,.the point at which a motor will stop/stall.

What is the difference between a driver gear and a driven gear?

The driver gear has the input torque, and the driven gear has the output torque.

What is the difference between traction motor and general motor?

A series motor is employed for traction application which has starting torque and permits intermittent operations by braking, which cannot be expected of a general purpose motor.

What is the difference between a Z24 cavalier and a regular 1998 cavalier?

A Z24 is normally luxury parts with a bigger 2.4L engine. Normally running around 150HP and 155lb torque. with normal cavaliers running to 130-140HP. Basically the Z24 is the sportier model of the cavaliers.
