The roles of women in baptist churches located in religious canons, and dated traditional documentation; all implied that they should not be allowed as ordained clerics or as pastors.

In the 21st century, the role of women in baptist churches were as Sunday school teachers, general mission presidents, treasurers, secretaries, clerks, choir presidents, musicians, nurses, ushers, deaconess (wives of deacons), and especially in the ministry of helps (kitchen).

The roles of women in the baptist churches have been botched both hermeneutically and homiletically. Women roles in the baptist churches were denied traditionally not to have no spiritual authority as clerics to preach from the Holy Scriptures, administer communion, perform weddings, or officiate funerals based on their unclean epoch or menstruation.

In summary, the roles of women in Christian churches have been placed in a horrible sexist category as a subservient idiot who is better off seen and not heard, bear foot and pregnant.

Different Baptists believe different things. For instance, Southern Baptists believe women are subservient to men and are conservative ideologically, but other Baptist groups in the U.S. are liberal ideologically and involve women in all levels of the church and are even gay-friend or pro-gay.

The women's role in the church, according to 1 Timothy 2:11-15, is to "learn in quietness and full submission." The woman should support her husband and let him lead, as that is the rightful responsibility of the man. The Husband/Father is called to great responsibility and discipline, while the wife/mother is called to support him in every way, and is not given permission "to teach or to have authority over a man."

Paul says the same thing in 1 Corinthians 14:34, but this time he says "women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says." This is where the texts go up for debate.

There is a great controvesy over this "difficult text", as my seminary professor would call it, because of our culture today. This "difficult text" has split churches, but all we can do is know what The Bible says is true and follow the same standards it has set for all christians.

It depends on what kind of baptist the church is. I'm a general baptist and I'm only 13 and hope to one day become a ordained minister.
