What do Buddhists practice?

Answer:

The primary practices of all forms of Buddhism are mindfulness and compassion. There are many ways to practice these, and most Buddhists have some sort of meditation practice, as well as a committment to skillful means of living in every day life. Some of the skillful means toward understanding the true nature of reality are refraining from violence and anger, and practicing charity and compassion.

Buddhist monks and nuns have much more complicated meditation practices as well as practices involving making offerings and other symbolic gestures which help them concentrate more fully on being mindful and compassionate.
