How can you fix a Mac book pro if it freezes?

Try rebooting the computer and hold shift while it starts up, if this does not work, you will have to start off of a boot disc (usually the cd-rom that came with your computer) just insert it into the drive and start up from there. This usually means you have a hard drive corruption so save all you can as you may have to re-format your hard drive

If your MacBook freezes shut it down manually. You do this by pressing the off button for a few seconds. Then turn it back on. WARNING do not manually shut down your computer often. It is bad for the computer.

What you do is you take the battery out of the mac but make sure you save everything & put it back in.There might be an odd freeze because it happened to me.Make sure EVERYTHING YOU NEED is saved onto your mac ;D

Unplug everything except the power cord and see if that will help.

Command/Option/Esc usually will force quit applications that have frozen or Command/Option/Power Button will reboot it also. If that doesn't work press the power button for 5 or 6 seconds to hard reboot it.

If it will boot up again, press the Shift keyimmediately after the start-up chime and it will boot into single user mode and do the daily, weekly and monthly maintenance it usually does in the background at night when you are not using it.(and not asleep) Just reboot normally when it finally gets to the desktop and see if that helped.

You might also boot from your Mac OS installer disk, pick a language and use Disk Utilities and do a "Repair Disk". If it repairs anything, repair it again until it no longer says it repaired it. Try to remember what you installed recently and uninstall it or see if there is an update for the program.

The problem is that it loads to the grey apple logo, then a loading bar pops up but doesn't progress, and then the computer shuts itself off after five minutes. My Geek Squad friend recommends buying a cheap tablet and using it for the geek squad warranty.
