Simple Answer

Same as for Christians and Jews. You; as Muslim, Christian, or Jew; will be judged in the 2nd life in front of God. If you were doing well you will be accepted in the God paradise (Heavens). If not, you will be pushed into the Hell fire.

Answer 1

Muslims believes that God controls life and death and when a person is about to die the angel of death pulls out his soul gently and with ease if we was a true believer and good Muslim and true Muslim, but if he was a disbeliever in Islam, or worshiped others beside Allah (God), or did awful things, and sinful his soul gets pulled out very painfully. Muslims believe that when they are buried in the grave, two angels will appear. These angels will look very beautiful only if the person they are going to ask is a true believer. They will look very ugly is the person they are going to ask is a sinner/disbeliever. The one in the grave will be asked the three questions by the angels (Who is your Lord?) (What is your religion?) & (Who is your prophet?). If he is a true believer he will answer..(Allah is my Lord) (Islam is my religion) and (Muhammad is my prophet). If he answers them right he will be shown a place in paradise and it will be said to him this is your home in the afterlife. And he will wish The Last Day In The World will arrive because he is assured he will get paradise after Doomsday when everyone is called to account. But if he was a sinner/disbeliever he will be very afraid and very confused and he will answer the three questions by saying I don't know, I don't know, and I don't know. The angels will hit him in the head with a hammer strong enough to blow him deep into the Earth. He will be shown his home in Hell-fire everyday and he will wish the Doomsday will not arrive but it will. There is punishment in the grave if he was sinner/disbeliever, scary punishments. But if he was a true believer, in the grave he will feel that it is spacious and comfortable. And he will get the aroma of paradise. Everyone will die so that's what happens. But after the Doomsday people are called to account on their actions, good/bad deeds, words, beliefs, religion. And then its either Paradise or Hell-fire.

Answer 2

Human being is made up of TWO things- physical body and Soul. Death comes to body, the soul is released to eternity. The souls of the good , believers rise up and stay near paradise. The souls of the nonbelievers and wicked people are hurled down near hell. On the day of judgment, all humans will rise up once again, judged according to their good or bad beliefs and deeds and sent to heaven or hell. There will be no death to them. They will dwell either in heaven or in hell. There is no escape. May Allah Almighty forgive our sins, show mercy to us, be pleased with us, save us from hell and bless us with paradise. A'meen.

Answer 3

When you die, you have to answer for your good deeds and bad deeds. You get punished for your unforgiven bad deeds and rewarded for your good deeds. Some people will go straight to hell and never come out, some will go straight to heaven, and some will spend some time in hell and then go to heaven.

The custom and religious recommendation is to be buried as soon as possible usually same day.

This is after a ghusl is performed ie a ritual cleansing of body with water. Then the body is wrapped in a simple white cloth tied on both ends. The body is placed in the Bier then the salat janaza is performed (ie the ritual death prayer by the group of Muslims,). Then the bier with the body is usually carried taken to the burial ground on the shoulders of the Muslim group/congregation/family if it is a short distance else by vehicle.

The body is buried with the shroud and not in a casket as it is with most Christians.

On the spiritual side the soul it is believed that the soul is extracted out of the body at the time of death and lingers around the body till it is buried. The extraction of the soul is considered easy if one has led a sinless life but extremely painful to the soul if it is of a sinner.

Once the body is in the grave the soul is also placed in the grave with the body. The realm in which the soul exists after the burial is called 'Barzak' In this time and space the grave appears to constrict and the soul pays through punishments for his sins which were not forgiven when he was alive. Those who did not sin their condition will be very comfortable and beautiful. Then on the day of resurrection all the souls will be raised from their graves ie really not their graves but this realm of 'Barzak'.

For those who did not sin their stay in Barzak will feel short and pleasant. Those who sinned will recall their ordeal as extremely painful and infinite.

On the day of resurrection each soul will be called to account for its deeds and those who sinned and were not forgiven will be assigned to hell and others to heaven. some of whom who had a net minor infractions in their life would go to heaven even though they endured punishments in the grave ie Barzak.

Answer 4

Firstly, people enter the pangs of death.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said "Every soul shall taste death". Meaning that we all have to go through this initial pain, however, that will vary upon each individual.

Secondly, each soul will be in an interspace, called the Barzakh. This is an intemediary place before the Day of Judgement. This place can either be the best place someone can rest or the worst...

Two stern Angels will come to each person (called Mukar and Nakir) and they will ask three question.

1.Who if your God?

2.Who is your Prophet ?

3.What is your religion?

Depending on how someone lived their life, they will bear some consequences in the grave.

On the Day of Judgement, every one will be resurrected from their graves. People will witness this amazing day...

It is reported that man will say "Woe to me, if only I had believed the messengers..."

People will stand behind those that they followed.

Muslims will stand behind Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Christians stand behind Jesus (pbuh)

Some people may stand behind Hitler or other tyrants

Everyone person will be judged on every action they did in their lives. Nothing will be left unturned and the whole of humanity will witness this.

Finally, people will either be admitted to Heaven or Hellfire....

Answer 5

Muslims believe this:

First the person will see the angel of death approach them and take their soul either violently or softly based on this person's deeds

secondly this person will be questioned by two angels munkar and nakeer who will ask the person three questions 1. who is your lord. 2. who is your prophet and 3. what is your religion

the person will either answer strongly if they were believers in Allah (God) and followed the holy text of Allah: the Torah Bible and Quran ( mainly the Quran)

Also the person who dies cannot commit anymore good deeds in their grave

also the person will either suffer or enjoy glimpses of heaven in the grave based on their deeds and belief they had before they died.

Answer 6

when you die , an angel which is called (the angel of death) comes and takes your soul , however if you were a good person than your soul will get easily out of you body ,but If you were a bad person then your soul will fight just to be in your body , and by the way no one can escape death , your body will be washed and other things are gonna be done , but then also every one in the whole world he is gonna feel the pressure of the grave (even If you are good ) ,

If you were a bad person then there is gonna be the torture of grave (I don't know what it is because I have not really tried it :P) , then youyr soul is gonna go to a place where it will wait for the day of judgment , so god can judge us and say if we are going to heaven or to hell .

It is preferred for the Muslim before he dies to say the (shahadateen ) which is :(أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله و أشهد أن محمدا رسول الله) (ashhadoo ana la ilaha ila Allah WA ana muhammadan rasool Allah) which means :I witness/say/believe that there is no god else than holy god and that muhammed is a prophet and massenger from god ) . also when the angel comes to get your soul , your whole life is gonna be showed to you (like a video)

Answer 7

1. It is a well-known reality that everyone has to taste death. Allah Ta'ala says in the Holy Quran: "Every soul shall have the taste of death". (3:185)

2. The time of death is fixed for everyone. Every single person's age is fixed. It cannot increase from its fixed time nor can it decrease. Nothing can save one from death. Wherever you are, death will find you out, even if you are in towers built up high. When the time of death comes, nothing can delay it.

3. When a person's life is ending, Hazrat Izraeel (alaihis salaam) comes to extract the dying person's soul.

4. The person dying looks to his left and right and sees Angels everywhere. The Angels of Mercy come to a Muslim and for the Kaafirs, the Angels of Punishment appear. At this time, even the Kaafirs believe the truth about Islam, but their faith at this time is not counted. This is because faith is the name of believing the Message of Allah Ta'ala and his beloved Messenger (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) without seeing proof. At this time one sees the Angels and then believes and this is therefore, not accepted as a Muslim.

5. A Muslim's soul is taken out with ease and is then taken with respect by the Angels of Mercy.

6. A Kaafir's soul is taken out with great pain and the Angels of Punishment take it with disgrace.

7. After death, the soul does not go into another body and is then reborn, but it stays in the world of "Barzakh" till the Day of Judgement. "Barzakh" means the interval between death and resurrection.

8. To believe in reincarnation - that the soul goes into another human body, or into an animal's body, or into trees or plants, etc. is wrong and is Kufr.

WHERE DOES THE SOUL REMAIN AFTER DEATH?

1. Death is when the soul comes out of the body.

2. According to the faith and deeds performed by that person, a different place is fixed for the soul to remain. It stays in that place until the Day of Resurrection. Some stay underneath the "Arsh" (above the skies), some remain at "Aala Illiyyeen" (the highest point), some remain at the well of Zam Zam, and some remain in their grave.

3. The souls of infidels are imprisoned. Some are imprisoned in the well of "Barhoot", some in "Sajeen" (the lowest point in Earth), and some at their place of cremation or burial.

DOES THE SOUL DIE?

1. In any situation, the soul does not die nor does it disintegrate but it remains unchanged. Whatever it's position and whatever it's state is, it always remains connected to the body.

2. Those who believe that the soul can die and disintegrate are a "Bud Mazhab" (from a deviated sect).

3. If the body experiences pain, the soul also feels the pain. If the body is relaxed, then the soul is also relaxed.

4. When someone visits the grave, the soul sees the person, recognises him or her and listens to what they are saying.

5. In relation to the Muslim's soul, it is stated in the Hadith Shareef that when a Muslim dies, the soul's path is opened and it can go wherever it pleases.

6. The dead also speaks. Animals, etc. except for normal humans and Jinn hear its voice.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER BURIAL?

1. After burial, the grave tightens up and presses the dead.

2. It presses the Muslim like a mother holds a child. It presses the Kaafir (infidel) to the extent of crushing them, like the left side bones end up on the right side.

3. When the people leave after burial, the dead hears the footsteps.

4. At that time, two Angels called Munkar and Nakeer come ripping through the earth. Their faces look very fearful and scary. Their bodies are black in colour. They have green and black eyes, which are very large in size popping out, like the Jinn's eyes and they are made of fire. Their hair is very scary and long from head to toe. Their teeth are very long with which they rip through the earth. They wake up the dead shaking and rattling them.

5. With great strength with a deep voice, they ask these three questions:

a. "MAN RABBUKA" meaning "Who is your Lord?"

b. "MAA DEENUKA" meaning "What is your religion?"

c. "MAA KUNTA TAQUL FEE HAJAR RAJL" meaning "What did you use to say about this person?"

If the dead person is a Muslim, he will reply as follows:

a. "RABBALLAH" - "My Lord is Allah."

b. "DEENIL ISLAM" - "My Religion is Islam."

c. "HUWA RASOOLULLAHE SALLALHO ALAIHI WASSALLAM" - "This is Allah's Messenger, He has been embraced with Allah Ta'ala's Mercy, greetings to him."

6. Now, a Voice from the skies will be heard saying: "My servant has said the truth. Lay the tablecloth of Paradise for him. Give him clothes from Paradise to wear and open the doors of Paradise (Jannat) for him." The cool air and the sweet fragrance of Jannat will continue to come and wherever the eyesight can reach, the grave will be made wide and large. Angels will say: "Sleep like a groom sleeps". All this will be for the good pious Muslims.

7. For the sinful, there will be punishment according to their sins.

8. This punishment will continue for a time. Then from the prayers of the pious or from "Esaale Sawaab" (good acts performed by people for the dead's forgiveness) or from prayers for their forgiveness or simply from the Mercy of Allah Ta'ala, this punishment will stop. Then, there will be relaxation.

9. If the dead is a Kaafir, then he will not be able to answer the questions and will say "HAA HAA LADRI" meaning "Shame for I know nothing'". Now a caller will shout: "He is a liar, lay the table-cloth of fire for him, and give him clothes of fire to wear and open the doors of Hell (Dozakh) for him, from which the heat of Hell will reach him."There will be two Angels allocated to him to give him punishment and will hit him with great big hammers. Big scorpions and snakes will also bite him. All different kinds of punishment will continue until the Day of Resurrection.

WHO WILL NOT BE ASKED QUESTIONS IN THE GRAVE?

1. The Prophets will not be asked questions in their graves nor will their graves tighten.

2. Many followers will also not be asked the questions, like those Muslims who die on a Friday or in the month of Ramadaan.

3. The situation of relaxation and punishment in the grave is a fact. This punishment or reward is for both the body and the soul.

4. Whether the body disintegrates or burns or mixes in the soil, it's original parts remains until the Day of Resurrection. It will receive reward or punishment. On the Day of Judgement it will be reformed back to a body. These original parts are actually situated in the spine and cannot be seen by humans. It also cannot be eaten by the soil nor can they be burned. These are the seeds of the body and from these Allah Ta'ala joins the rest of the parts of the body, which have been spread by either being turned into ashes or soil and are reformed into the original body.

5. The soul then comes back into that body and is presented in the field of Resurrection. This day is known as "Hashr".

6. The questions will be asked at that place at which a person has been buried or has been left to rot. Punishment will also occur there. For example, if a tiger has eaten a person, the questions will be asked inside the tiger's stomach, and the punishment and reward will also happen there.

7. A person who rejects the fact of the punishment and reward of the grave is a misguided person.

WHO'S BODY CANNOT BE EATEN BY THE SOIL?

1. The Prophets, the Awliya (Friends of Allah Ta'ala), the Shuhada (Martyrs), a Hafiz of the Quran who also acts upon the instructions of the Holy Quran, a person who has never committed a sin and those who pray the Durood Shareef at all times, their bodies are not eaten by the soil.

2. Those who say that the Prophet's bodies "have died and eaten by the soil" is a misguided person, from the wrong sect, or an evil and an insulting person.

Answer 8

The same thing that happens to everyone else. The person leaves the body. The person is then questioned after the burial of the body. The person then awaits the Day of Judgment. Either that waiting is peaceful and happy, or that waiting is torture and suffering. It depends upon beliefs and deeds. If the person believed in the One God - with no partners, no other gods, no son or daughter or any offspring - and had done good deeds in their life, then they will be happy and at peace. If they did not believe right, or did too many sins for which they did not repent to God, then they will suffer.

Then everyone will be raised to life again for Judgment. Again, those who believed in the ABSOLUTE ONENESS OF GOD, and lived good lives, will be entered into Paradise. Those who did not believe - or worshipped more than one god - will enter Hell forever. Those who believed in the ABSOLUTE ONENESS OF GOD, but committed sins that they did not repent from, may either be forgiven or punished by God. Those who are punished may enter Hell for only some time. eventually, everyone who believed in the ABSOLUTE ONENESS OF GOD - THAT ONLY GOD IS GOD - will be released from Hell.

The same as in the other Judaism based religions. You go to heaven, if you have lived a good, god fearing life.

Answer 9

As Muslims we believe in life after death. We believe we die, and our soul is returned to God. And then Judgement Day will come and God will separate the bad people from the good. If you have done well in life, followed Islam, done good deeds, fasted, prayed, believed etc then you will be sent to heaven. If you have done wrong you shall have to ask forgiveness from Allah. This should be done by asking Allah for forgiveness form the depth of your heart. If you mean it Allah will forgive you. Though the main point is all eveil do-ers will go to Hell.

Resurrection and judgment Qiyama Belief in the "Day of Resurrection", yawm al-Qiyāmah (also known as yawm ad-dīn, "Day of Judgment" and as-sā`a, "the Last Hour") is also crucial for Muslims. They believe that the time of Qiyāmah is preordained by God but unknown to man. The trials and tribulations preceding and during the Qiyāmah are described in the Qur'an and the hadith, and also in the commentaries of Islamic scholars. The Qur'an emphasizes bodily resurrection, a break from the pre-Islamic Arabian understanding of death. It states that resurrection will be followed by the gathering of mankind, culminating in their judgment by God. The Qur'an lists several sins that can condemn a person to hell, such as disbelief, usury and dishonesty. Muslims view paradise (jannah) as a place of joy and bliss, with Qur'anic references describing its features and the physical pleasures to come. There are also references to a greater joy - acceptance by God (ridwān).

Answer 1

At the time of death angels (the angel who takes out the soul is Izrael A.S) come to take the soul out of the body. If the person was a believer in the Oneness of God, and was a doer of good, then the angels remove his soul gently - like a drop of water dripping off the end of your finger. If the person rejected the One God - either by disbelieving in God entirely, or by worshiping someone else with God (like the Hindus or those who pray to Jesus do) or by simply refusing to obey God, then the angels rip his soul out of his body like the tearing of wool through a fine-toothed comb.

A person will be shown his entire life. every second, every word and every deed will be shown to him. If he was a believer, he will be very happy. If he was not, he will be very frightened. In the grave, angels will come who will question the person about his life, about faith etc; the first question will be about Namaz (the obligatory five prayers at fixed times a day); other questions will be about the education (where and how did he use his knowledge?); about wealth (how did he get his wealth and where did he spend it?) etc. In the grave a believer experiences joy. An unbeliever will suffer punishments - based upon his sins.

all the souls will wait till he Qayamat (the dooms day) and then Hashar (the day of judgment) will take place.

On the day of judgment the people would be called by their mothers' names. On the Day of Judgment everyone who ever lived will be raised to life again. It will be IMMEDIATELY clear that there is no god but the One God - and that no one else has any power to do anything. So all the people who used to cry out: "Oh Jesus" or "Oh Hussein" or "Oh Krishna" will realise that they were praying to created beings - not the Creator of all beings.

There are angels sitting on the shoulder of every person in life (one angel on right notes good deeds and one on left who notes bad deeds) called Karaman-Kaatbeen (those who write deeds).; and like this a book will be ready for every person called Nama-e-amaal (book of deeds or record of deeds). the deed is of a person will be measured on a balance also and every part of universe will give the evidence of the persons deed means the part of earth where he performed those etc.

They will also realize that what the Prophets said was true. There really is a Heaven and there really is a Hell. God did not create all of this for no purpose. He insists upon belief and good deeds. Those who did not obey God will be punished. Even if you do not want to believe in it, you will be compelled to face it.

Everyone who enters Heaven will remain there, but not everyone who enters Hell will remain there. Eventually, perhaps after thousands of years, everyone who had even a small believe in the One God - with no other gods as partners to the One God - will be removed from Hell; by God mercy and forgiveness; and accepted in God Paradise (or Heavens). God is Just, but He is also very merciful.

  • The Muslims bury their dead.
  • The dead body should be given bath according to Islamic rules and wrapped in white sheets (Coffin).
  • It should be taken to the funeral place (Janazgah) as soon as possible.
  • It is better that the dead should be buried where the person dies.
  • Funeral prayer should be offered placing the dead body in front of the people, Imam.
  • The funeral prayer is in fact Mercy petition submitted to Almighty Allah for the forgiveness of the dead Muslim.
  • The dead should be respectfully placed in the grave and buried.
  • It is advisable to recite the first thee Ayyat and last Ayyat of Sura Baqra on the grave of the dead before parting.

Muslims believe in the Paradise in which they will be rewarded by Allah (or God; the Creator) and will enjoy all God blessings if he/she died while pleasing God and satisfying Him.

Answer 8

The popular version of Islamic heaven is the only men go to heaven and get 40 virgins stuff. In other locations in the Quran (e.g Surah 43. Ornaments Of Gold, men and their wives do to heaven with their families, Sura - 37 The Arrangers.(Al-Saffat) people will be able to visit their dead relatives)

Overall heaven is described as a state of happiness (no hurt, sorrow, fear or shame) and wealth (wearing costly robes, bracelets, perfumes; partaking in exquisite banquets, served in priceless vessels by immortal youths; reclining on couches inlaid with gold or precious stones). Hint: all these kinds on enjoyment are just for demonstration but not exactly as described. It is stated that in the Paradise you will get all what you never imagined, never seen, never heard, or even never thought of.

According to the teachings of Islam, the dead are buried. Soon after a man is buried, two angels (called Munkar and Nakeer) come to him. His soul comes back to him. The angels raise him and ask him three questions:

1. Who is your Rabb-Creator, Provider?

2. Who is your Prophet (SAW)?

3. What is your religion?

The Muslim dead answers:

1. Almighty Allah is my Rabb.

2. Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) is my Nabi (Prophet)

3. Islam is my religion (Deen).

Then they widen his grave, open up a window from heaven to his grave, or ask him to sleep peacefully till the dead will be risen up from their graves on the day of Qiyamat (or the Resurrection Day).

If the person is non-believer and can't answer the above question, something horrible may happen to him.

According to Surah Fatiha, 1st chapter of Qur'an, verse no. 4, which says, "the Owner of the Day of Judgement." which means after death there will be Day of Judgement on which one's account is justified.

Before the Day of Judgement (Doomsday) and after death, there is also grave questions, which, when answered correctly based on practices while alive. The 3 questions are as follows:

Who is your Lord? What is your Religion? Who is your messenger(prophet)?

May God bless you with guidance and also me.
