Dutch Bantams are small birds, the hens weighing in at about 16 to18 ounces and the males average around 20 to 22 ounces.
Both hen and rooster have a medium sized single comb and almond shaped earlobes usually white.
Both females and males move proud with head up and a good display of breast. Flowing feathers cover the hackles and saddle. Long cardioid sickle feathers drape well around their tail. Most varieties have slate colored legs.
They are hardy and very active birds.
