What do air raid sirens look like?

Answer:
Air raid sirens are a sort of tube thing that has a handle on the side. You turn the handle so that an enormous whiring sound echos over the town.It stands on a sort of tripod and is usaly black or dark green to blend in with the night. For an image of an Air Raid Siren,go on Google images and type in 'Air Raid Siren from world war 2'.

There is a small canister-like object (stator) and something inside it (chopper). Both have large holes. A motor or crank spins the chopper. Air is forces out of the holes in the stator, making the sound. The louder the siren, the larger. Some are as big as a CRANE. The Sirens have MANY, MANY different designs from horn, chopper assembly, then rotator, then blower, others 2 sets of choppers and the motor in the middle. You can just type Air Raid Sirens from a search and go to Images. You'll see.
