They do not make good pets because they need UVA and UVB lighting, or else they won't live very long. They can be tamed down pretty easily although they are more of a display reptile.
I hope I helped.
They make awesome pets! I have 3! They don't need light, though they have it. Mine are not tamed yet because I have only had them 2 weeks!
is it sold at pet stores?
They will eat a range of insect. Small (non poisonous) Spiders, Crickets, Meal worms, wax worms, small lizards, potato bugs, Grasshoppers, and beetles. Crickets would be the best for them.

Blue belly lizards, also know as western fence lizards are not poisonous, but can bite. The only poisonous lizard in the US is the Gila monster, which live in desert areas, such as Joshua Tree, San Bernardino and few in Death Valley.
its a consumber
Most likely not. I would need a picture to be sure or maybe just the state or contient that you live in. I have no idea what kind of brown lizard it is but I know that most of the time brown lizards are harmless like the Fence Lizard or a Bearded Dragon or a skink. but...maybe you have a weird one...just dont let it bite you.
A black lizard with a yellow stripe isn't poisonous but a lizard with white dots and is black can kill you. Truly the real question is, is it a black lizard with yellow stripes or a yellow lizard with black stripes?
The blue belly of the western fence lizard has taken on that color as an adaption. The males have a more pronounced coloring, and they use it in territorial displays. The coloring on females is not nearly as pronounced, but is present. A link can be found below.
