This is a great way to get books to students without having to store books in a library when there isn't the physical space available. Also, it removes the cumbersome issue of having enough copies of books on hand. Plus the books don't get dog-eared or worn-out as quickly. The iPad makes research easier because every student has access to all of the materials available. There are several more reasons that stem off of these examples, but this gives the general idea.

Where to Find Used Textbooks?

Many college students are on a tight budget and cannot afford several hundred dollars or more each semester for new textbooks. The school bookstore sometimes has used books but those usually sell out very quickly. There are several other places where students may be able to pick up cheap used textbooks if their local school bookstore has sold out.Practically every college has a bulletin board where students are free to post fliers for their band, advertisements for services they provide or items they want to sell. Sometimes students use these bulletin boards to sell their used textbooks instead of taking them back to the school store. The school store usually only gives students a small amount in exchange for their used books. Students hope that by listing them on the bulletin board they may be able to get more money than the store would give them. Students that watch the bulletin boards regularly may be able to get a good deal on the books they need for class.Local used bookstores like Half Price Books will usually accept used textbooks. The school store has only a limited window of time during which students can return their textbooks. Students that miss this window of opportunity may sell their books to other stores instead of waiting for their next opportunity to return the books to the school. These stores usually off students less for their books and resell more cheaply than college bookstores since they get less student traffic. There are literally dozens of places where students can find used textbooks online. Major online retailers like Barnes & Noble or Amazon usually have used textbooks in their inventory. Though these stores do not stock the books directly, their system allows sellers from all over the globe to post and sell their inventory online. This system just helps students connect with the book sellers. Students can also find the textbooks they need listed on major auction sites like eBay.
