A salamander needs a basic BIG tank, somehwere to move and somewhere to be able to breath freely, as they are pond buddys lol, WILL DEFFINETLY NEED WATER They are most comfortable when their are leaves and plants around to hide in, some rocks where they can "do their duty", as you notice most salamanders WILL pick a place to "do their duty" lol.A small pond inside the tank is nice and also a designated area to eat their food, yes! they will eat their food anywhere, also add a nice place for a hiding and sleeping- MORE than just some plants, something to go in to be alone, in the dark, to feel more safe. A comfy salamander is a lovey one!
so things needed for living habitat
-designated inside sleeping area
-designated ares to eat their yummys!
-desinated area to "do their duty"
- a little water pool, of course deeper than the rest of the water! a little warmer also!
-Rocks, large and small
-plants! tall and shirt!
have fun with your female/male salamander!
and remember a taken care of sally! is a lovey sally!

∙ 12y agoYes they do. It all depends on what type of salamanders you found/bought. Water living salamanders need more water than land salamanders. Speak with your local pet store.
