Best Answer

Red beans grow erect to about 18 to 24 inches. The seeds are planted and not the seedlings as they will not survive. They should be grown in 15 inch rows and a depth of 1 to 2 inches in a place with the most sunlight and light soil with good drainage to prevent rotting of the roots. The plant should be watered when the soil is dry. It takes about 16 days for the plant to sprout.

Red Kidney beans to not 'eat' anything. They are plants, so they make their own food through photosynthesis in their leaves.
