The term 'Homemaker' is acceptable. Be sure to describe the duties that you performed as the profession they are. I know that you love your kids and nurture and care for them, but unless you are applying for a child care position, limit that to just one of the duties. You need to list all of the other duties that were your responsibility. Remember, running a household is no different than running a small business. Use professional terminology, cleaning and fixing is maintenance and repair; doing the budget and bill paying is bookkeeping; arranging kids' and adult parties and visits to the waterpark is arranging social functions; lawn care and snow shoveling is landscaping and maintenance. You also refer to the skills required to perform these duties in professional terms, things like organizational skills, meeting deadlines, balancing priorities, etc. If you think in these terms, the wording of your resume, your cover letters, and the terms you use in an interview will come more easily. Stay at home mom is a profession that takes a lot of skill, imagination, and hard work.

It's not very clear what you mean by 'at home maid'; it could mean that you stayed home to take care of the household (and/or children) while the other adult members of the household worked at paying jobs; or it could mean that you were a live in domestic servant for an employer.

Here are some variations that you might use:

If you were acting as the family member that stayed at home to care for the needs of the household, then you can use term like 'housewife' or 'household caretaker'. Be sure that under duties, that you describe what you did in professional terms such as 'financial management' (paid the bills, did the budget); purchasing goods and services (did the shopping, arranged the plumber); cleaning and organization of premises, etc.

If you were a live in domestic servant, you don't use the 'live in' part, the room and board was part of your pay. For the job description, use the term for which you were hired by your previous employer because a prospective employer will be contacting that person and you don't want that person to say that it's not correct. But if you did general household chores and your employer called you 'the maid' or 'the girl', you can use the term 'housekeeper'. The only place you need to mention the room and board is if it's asked in the form of previous salary, you can say $xxx/week +room & board.
