These are the names applied to the various abnormalities concerning the sense of smell.
Anosmia - a complete loss of smell.
Hyposmia - partial loss of smell.
Dysosmia - distortion in odour perception (includes parosmia & phantosmia).
Parosmia - distortion of perception of external stimulus.
Phantosmia - smell perception with no external stimulus.
Hyperosmia - enhanced smell sensitivity.
Currently, knowledge and understanding about the sense of smell is limited, although the past two decades has seen some encouraging results.
Hope this helps

I'm not going to change someone's answer. Just add a line and write my own.
Technically, anosmia is the lack of smell. People who cannot smell are anosmic.
I would know. I am one. Born that way almost 25 years ago.
And for the record, it is rude to NOT tell your anosmic friends they smell bad. How else are they gonna know? Someone who has never known smells their entire life has to learn about which things produce scents. Then, we have to learn about good vs. bad scents. I hear that cucumber melon smells good. So, sometimes I use that for shampoo.
Now, people think that since we can't smell - we can't breathe. Obviously, we breathe. Some people think we can't taste. But - we can. You see... when you get sick.. all your senses get messed up. And it may be true that having a sense of smell may enhance the experience of eating foods (from what I hear) ... we can still taste them. I will never know, however, how much better that burger tastes to you because you can smell it. Doesn't really matter, though. I know that I enjoy eating McDonald's burgers and can't stand Whataburger or Sonic burgers. If I could not taste, then how could I possibly favor one over the other? Would they not 'taste' the same to me?
It's funny - looking back on things. When my mother first told me my armpits 'stank'... I was like.... I'm right here. I can't 'smell' anything. What was she nagging about? I thought maybe I wasn't doing it right. Maybe I had to learn how to do this thing. Sometimes.. I thought everyone was playing a horrible, cruel joke on me. They have invented this 'sense' - what's wrong with these people? Recall those smelling markers from eleentary school? The worst one was suposed to be the black one. Supposed to smell like licorice. I tried sticking it in my nose to experience what everyone else was... but nada.
My own family didn't believe me when I suggested the possibility that I just was unable to do this - maybe since birth or injury I couldn't recall. They thought maybe I was out for attention. But, it took a 6-hour car ride to Grandma's house and the result of someone eating Mexican food - and all those beans - before they finally believed me. "There's no way you can smell and not flinch." While I never have to endure any bad smell, I do get to enjoy the faces people make that have to. And you know that phrase "You smelt it; you dealt it." In that case, I'm never the dealer. LOL
That condition is called Anosmia.
Anosmia
The word for the inability to smell is Anosmia and the inability to taste is Ageusia =]
