Hamsters cannot be cleaned. They should NEVER be put under water unless it is a emergency (ex. They walk into and acidic fluid). You can provide then with a dust/sand bath. This will give them a fluffier coat that smells good.

Never put a hamster in water to clean them. It can kill oils they need to survive. Hamsters can clean themselfs but if you feel like you need to clean them, you can get hamster wipes and lightly wipe then or let them play in chichilla sand, not chinchilla dust though.
