What do you do if someone is unconscious?

Before approaching any emergency scene, make sure you, the patient and the emergency scene is safe, and put gloves on.

Assess the emergency scene for any clues that would tell you about the patients condition - 'The Mechanism Of Injury', ask the bystanders - we are trying to find out if the patient has a neck or spinal injury.

=== Trauma Patient, (suspected spinal injury) = Do not move the patient unless their life is in danger. If the patient is lying supine, open the airway by lifting the patients jaw, (Jaw Thrust). Cover to maintain normal body temperature and reassure the patient. ===
