Okay. I agree that you shouldn't have a baby at 13 but I don't think it's horrible to want one. Just don't do anything about. Meaning, don't get pregnant as a teen but wait until you're old enough and ready. Something that might help is babysitting or hanging out with family that has a baby. Well first off, being 13 is too young to have sex. Second, it doesn't cost that much money to buy a box of condoms. If you want to have sex you should at least be responsible about it. You need to tell your parents whether you want it or not, it may be easier just to tell you mom first. Since it is your fault you got pregnant you should decide to have the baby or put it up for adoption. I am for abortion but not in these circumstances. It's too late to give the speech now for this girl. She is very young and probably never received any sex education by the time this happened. All she can do is get support from the Social Services, her doctor and mother if she has one. The person who she had sex with will need to know she is pregnant so they can be involved in the process. If that person is a similar age then they probably will not be in too much trouble, but if a lot older and above the age of consent then maybe will be in trouble with the law and possibly prosecuted for Statutory Rape. This is a sorry state to be in for a youngster this age and I hope all will go well for her. Nobody but her can make the decision of what will happen to the child, but with the help of the authorities. == ==

No. It's illegal for you to have sex as long as you are a minor. There would be higher risks with a pregnancy this young, both for you and the baby. Adult parents are rarely ready for a handicapped child so are you? Considering at 13 you live at home it will be your parents taking care of that baby more then you and I doubt they would want you to do this. It's not just you having a baby it's the whole family. If they wanted one they would have another sibling for you. If they choose not to help you you could lose the child since you can not take care of it yourself. You will still have to go to school and your parents still decide everything about your life. You will stay home longer because school will take longer to finish IF you are of those graduating or you will be forced to eventually get a low paid job to provide for your child. Because you have to pay for the child yourself. Your parents are not obligated to do so for you. They are already paying for their own child, you. Welfare you would probably not get since they also count your parents income with yours since you live with them. If you have a boyfriend it will not last (these young relationships never do, only 4% and they are older then you) and your parents decide if you are allowed to see him again. He is allowed to see his child but not you unless yours and his parents say so. A parent have to be responsible and getting pregnant on purpose at 13 is very irresponsible.

I'm not saying this to be mean but this is reality. Yours, if you get pregnant. And having a child is the most real thing you can do in life. After that there is no room for daydreaming or play.

It is illegal for you to have sex with anyone. And since your parent will have to share this child with you you should ask them what they think about it. At 13 you are not made for having a baby yet, not emotionally or physically. Where will you get money to daycare, diapers, formula, doctor appointments, paying for the birth and if the baby need care at the hospitals after wards? We are talking over $10.000! The baby is not payed for by your parents, only you are on their insurance. You can practice by sleeping 3 hours a night, 1 hour at a time, and then go to school, come home, do homework, prepare dinner, do laundry etc (since you don't have a baby to take care of yet since you are practicing) and then maybe you understand how it tiering it is. Now do that for a week and tell your parent how you feel. You also can not hang out with your friends and you will never have any money to buy cute things for since you have no income. You are not old enough to drive anywhere yourself either.

I'm not saying this to be mean but this is REALITY. Hormones make you feel this and that is normal but falling for it is not. Get a baby sitting job if you want to be near kids. Walk dogs. Giving up yourself because you have to take care of another person who always needs you (to a point where you can't go to the toilet alone - I had one on the floor and one in my lap) and couldn't care less if you are tired/moody/sad/got your period etc. This is the time when you can afford to be selfish. Don't throw it away - be a kid.

First of all, it is NOT illegal for you to have sex at 13 as long as it is someone under the age of 18. When you have a baby at 13 as long as you have had your period for at lest 2 years , then your body is mature enough to have a child. As far as the baby goes, I think your parent(s)/guardian(s) are the legal guardian(s) until you turn either 16, 17, 18 or finished high school. (I don't remember)

Sex is not legal for minors just because they have sex with another minor. BOTH are too young to give consent. There are sometimes close-in-age clauses but is usually regarding statutory rape. There is no 2-year rule that says your body would be ready for childbirth and pregnancy after menstruation for 2 years. Risks are always higher for teen pregnancies regardless of how long they have been menstruating. Basically getting pregnant at 13 means you should ask your parents about it since they are the ones that will be forced to help you unless they send you to a home for young mothers. You are still a minor and getting pregnant or having a child does not change that. You will have more obligations than rights.
