With very few exceptions, you can control it. Takes practice but it is possible. It may be hard to realize but we all choose how we feel or react to everything. Happy, sad, angry, depressed, any emotion, we choose it. Crude example. I hit you on the side of the head. You can get mad or figure I had a reason and find out what it was. Getting hit by me could have saved you from the brick you didn't see. You choose how you feel and react. It took me years to get to the point of not getting mad at the drop of a hat. You grab the anger when it starts and simply do not allow it to happen. After a while it become automatic. The flip side of this is that when you want or need it to be there you can turn it on just as easy. Meditation helped me a lot, but that is something you have to find for yourself.
