First, look at the tail and see how bad the cut is. If the tail is just bleeding and there are no irregularaties in the shape or normal action of the tail, I would leave it alone. However, if you can see bone showing or if there is a "kink" or irregular permanent bend in the tail, you may have broken it and I would suggest calling your vetenarian as soon as possible.

The Drop tail Lizard is one of them. A flatworm such as the planarian can regenerate body parts. If you cut it in half the part with the head will grow a new tail and the part with the tail will grow a new head. Pretty wicked!
