First you need to take other songs and their beats . Then you try to get a picture of what kind of beat you want. After that try to ask a couple friends to help play it for you and say what they think you need to improve or any other adjustments.

Actually it is called peotry and feelings of your soul. Songs have been around for many centuries. Songs can tell stories, legends and feelings. A song nowadays is expressed by feelings. If you decide one day to write a song then try something that inspires you or write what you feel. The lyrics dont neccesarily have to rhyme as said up above thay can just have the same rhythym.
