Don't sue the lot owner sue the Lender in regular court or small claims you can represent yourself in both cases.File a police report and list the items.Try and get reciepts for the items taken. First, your going to have a tough time proving what was in it, and that would be needed to get a recovery.
Then, as long as the one that repoed the car used care to protect the things, that the car was locked and parked someplace secure is probably adequate...you have no claim against them. Understand...it's questionably even your stuff when left IN THEIR CAR, (it isn't your car anymore after the repo.) Generally, if you get to it while the tower has it, and aren't threatening, or even the lot its being held at, as a courtesy, you can take things out of it. It was your actions of not paying the loan as agreed, then not responding to the legal demands to do so, or turn over the property, that forced the other party to have to repo it (and you probably still owe them!)....your actions...including leaving your personal items in the car knowing it was subject to repo for your failure to do what you swore you would in legal documents and loan agreements...that caused the loss. Generally, that doesn't get much sympathy or payment to you from those YOU ALREADY FAILED TO PAY!
