Take it apart! Open it and take out first the battery, then all the other parts that can be removed. Wrap all parts except the battery in soft cloths (can be put in socks) and put them in a warm place (eg. hot press, radiator). battery should be kept in a room temperature. The phone should dry up and come back within a couple of days. I rescued mine twice that way when it fell in the loo.
I had a sliding phone that fell into a puddle. After I did this, the phone worked just as it always had before the fall. But please note, not all phones are the same so this is not guaranteed to work.
The first thing to do is immediately take off anything that can possibly come apart on your phone. This includes your battery, SIM card, multimedia card, and anything else that can come off. If your phone is a slider or flip, go ahead and open it up. You want to make sure air can get into the phone as much as it can. Dry everything off as well as you can and place your phone in a safe spot on a dry towel or paper towel. Leave it alone for a few days. It might be tempting to pick it up and see if it works, but the best thing to do is just let it be. You might want to turn it every so often to make sure the water is leaving it.
Make sure you do NOT blow dry your phone. This can create fog on the screen that is near impossible for it to go away.
After it's been sitting for a long period of time you can go ahead and put your SIM card and battery back in. (If you still see water you might leave it alone for a bit longer.)
Once everything is back in try and see if it works and access the damage that's been done. If you see problems with your phone then it might have been damaged beyond repair. Best thing to do would be to get another phone. But if you don't see anything wrong then congratulations! You just saved your phone!
Get a new phone. The best phone out there at the moment is the iphone. If this is not in your price range another good phone is the xenon from lg!!
