What do you do if you lose your AL learners permit?

Go to the DMV (the place where you received your permit) and get it renewed (I believe you have to retake the test) In New York: You can renew a learner permit only if you passed the written test during the previous two years. This requirement means that you cannot renew a learner permit that was issued more than two years ago. If you passed the written test more than two years ago, you must apply for a new learner permit and pass a new vision test and a new written test. If you are eligible to renew your learner permit, you can renew your the permit no more than 30 days before the permit expires, or no more than two years after the date you passed the written test for your original permit. You must renew by mail or at a DMV office. You cannot renew a learner permit on-line. Most states I think are the same in that you have to re apply, and retake some test or all the tests, you really have to check your stats DMV for how they handle thse things.

If you mean it was destroyed or you somehow lost track of it, it should be easy to get a new one from wherever you got the first one. You might have to pay a small fee.

If you lost it it because of some infraction of the law, you would have to ask the judge or read the court papers that removed your permit.
