What do you do when your sunburn starts to itch?

Answer:
Cold shower will ease itch immediately. "ONLY TEMPORARILY"

The deep down, severe itch of a sunburn will go away. I thought I was going to go nuts when the deep itch hit me. I didn't think I would make it thru 1 night of that itch I had. Scratching it made it itch even more. I still remember that night like it was yesterday. The itch seemed to suddenly appear and persistently hit all over my back like some deranged thing stabbing me with needles. The itch will not go away overnight but does get much much better within 24 hours. Although it will itch for a few days but not as bad as when it starts. I remember it so vividly I now use at least spf 50 sunscreen Every time I'm in the sun for more than 30 minutes after that dreadful night. Also people who swear by aloe have been lucky enough to have never had this itch.

This will help for hours.

1. Take max dose of ibuprofen.

2. Take max dose of antihistamine.

3. Apply lots of Calamine lotion.

4. While Calamine is still wet apply lots of medicated powder.

The Calamine lotion and medicated powder will not trap heat. It works very effectively to cool and suppress the itch.

You now have a whole new respect for the sun.
