Go to Windows Uninstaller or Add Remove on WinXP. Let the programs 'populate', which means wait until you see them all listed. Go down the list and find Bing. Uninstall it. Close the Uninstaller or close Add Remove. Next, go to your internet Options. Look in the Tabbed Sections. Look at the URL listed for your preferred Home Page. Re-enter what one you prefer. Re-set your Preferred Browser. On any Browser window, you should also be able to use Tools to set your Preferred Browser. Close everything. Re-open your preferred browser. If you can access it without Bing, you are done. If not, or if you also have a Bing Toolbar, you'll also need to reset that.
Don't despair. If you are using explorer it might be hard, since Bing is one of the last things you want on your PC.
What you do is UNINSTALL Bing by using the uninstaller from Windows. This is in the control panel under uninstall a program. Then you go to the web browser you have (such as IE, Chrome, or Firefox). That should solve it, but if Bing is still in the browser, the easiest way might be to just uninstall the browser and reinstall.
Another option would be to go to options in the browser, find the default search and see if it lists Bing. If so, change that back to Google or whatever search engine you want. And then Bing will not bother you any more. Unless you make the same mistake again (make sure to always uncheck the boxes when installing and opt out of any automatic add-ons you don't want).
You should uninstall Bing.
