Stay away from harmful foods and dangerous activities such as boxing, jumping,or anything with to much movement..also it helps to remain relaxed and stay away from stressful situations because to much stress can lead to a miscarriage or maybe even birth affects.

If it occurs in the first trimester though there is not anything you can do. That early it's usually Mother Nature doing it because there is something wrong with the embryo/fetus and it wouldn't survive. And normal exercise is recommended for someone who's pregnant.

If prone to miscarriage first you need to get hormone levels checked. If pregnant and threatening to miscarry avoid intercourse 3rd and 7th months and the usual heavy lifting. They used to insert a Schirodka suture in the neck of the womb don't know if this procedure is still offered.

The causes of miscarriage vary, but it can be treated surgically if the cause is an anatomical anomaly. Specifically, those surgical procedures target the cervix by increasing it's support of the uterus and therefore decrease the chances of miscarriage especially in the first trimester.

In most situations, a miscarriage cannot be prevented unfortunately. There are however steps you can take to reduce the risk or closely monitor your health so that anything abnormal can be detected as soon as possible. For example, if you have chronic conditions such as Asthma, high blood pressure, Diabetes, etc you should get these under control before conception. A daily prenatal vitamin that contains 800mcg of folic acid and other B vitamins is vital for the health of your pregnancy. Your weight can also affect the baby's health. Try to get your weight as close to healthy as possible for your height, age, etc. Avoid certain lifestyle habits that can interfere with the fetus such as smoking, alcohol, and/or the use of recreational drugs. Try to eliminate your use of medications unless necessary and always consult your OB/GYN before taking these medications during your pregnancy (also, consult any doctor you visit immediately of your pregnancy so that he is aware and will not run any test such as X-rays or prescribe you medications that can be harmful to your fetus). Use all necessary precaution to avoid infections, especially STD's. Try to develop a healthy lifestyle of a proper diet, free of harmful substance and routine exercise before conceiving. This can provide the ultimate health for you and your unborn baby.

In short, you can not prevent a miscarriage. 80% miscarriages occur because the baby was not normal. It occurs due to chromosomal abnormalities. Abnormal chromosomes in sperms of father or egg of mother can cause a baby abnormal. If such a baby is born, he can not live longer and will die soon. So nature discharges such a baby in the form of miscarriage. However miscarriage is not a thing to be worry about so much. If you want to avoid miscarriage, you can do so if it is due to your health problems. If miscarriage is due to abnormal chromosomes, you can not avoid it and you should not avoid it. If you are facing health problems, try to be healthy before conceiving. Beside this, you should eat healthy food and make yourself full healthy..

Don't drink or smoke, obvious.

For a miscarriage in the first trimester not much since then it's usually because it's something wrong with the fetus. For the rest of the pregnancy you can go on with ordinary life except for drinking, smoking, doing drugs and playing rough sports and get tackled. If you are in a highrisk pregnancy the doctor will notify you and tell you what to avoid.

Do not smoke. Do not take any prescription pills unless advised by your doctor. Do not stress out about keeping the baby because the stress of that could cause your body to reject the baby. Be happy and eat!

By living a normal healthy life. Eat right, exercise etc. If something is wrong with the embryo you can not do anything and then the miscarriage is usually in the first trimester.

Is it normal that mild cramping at four to six weeks pregnant suddenly stopped and is it indicative of a possible miscarriage if the woman has had a prior miscarriage at 7 weeks?

It could mean that you have had a miscarriage, but this is normally accompanied by bleeding and heacier cramping. Everything could be fine, bit with a history of miscarriage I would avoid sex and strenuous physical activity and see your doctor. The doctor can obtain a Quantitative HCG level and then obtain another in a week or so to make sure your HCG level is rising at it should.

Do you have to wait 3 months after having a miscarriage to try again?

You should wait until you at least have one normal menstrual cycle after miscarriage to avoid infection in your uterus, but it IS best to wait 3 months to try again. Even with an early miscarriage, your body needs to recover and it takes about 3 months for your uterus and hormones to return to normal after pregnancy. There is a greater than normal chance of having another miscarriage if you start trying again too early. The longer you were pregnant before miscarriage also affects the amount of time it takes for your body to return to normal. Talk to your doctor.
