There are many different routes to becoming an Air Force pilot. All US Air Force pilots are commissioned officers. To be a commissioned officer in the Air Force, you must have at least a 4 year college degree.

There are a few different routes available to those seeking to become a pilot. Probably the first that comes to mind for most people is the US Air Force Academy. Another popular option is AF Reserve Officer Training Corps at a local university. Other less common paths include Officer Training School or being hired by an Air National Guard or AF Reserve flying unit.

Once you are commissioned you are sent off to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training. This is about 12 months of training involving T-6, T-1, T-38, or T-44 aircraft. After this training, you will move to another base to begin training on the specific airframe for your first assignment. Depending on the type of aircraft you will be flying, you could have anywhere from 2 to 9 months of additional flight training.

After that training, you will be sent to your first duty station to continue training. Over the course of the next few years, you will slowly move up the ladder from pilot to instructor pilot to evaluator pilot.

Joining the United States Air Force always begins with talking to a recruiter. The recruiter will tell you about the various benefits of joining the Air Force , and help you identify a career you might want to pursue. After you have decided to join, the recruiter will take you to a MEPS (Military Enlistment and Processing Station). Here, you will undergo various medical examinations and fill out a LOT of paperwork. You will then enter the delayed enlistment program, where you will wait until an opening becomes available. This may take several weeks. After an opening appears, you will return to MEPS and receive final processing and take your oath of enlistment. Then you will receive tickets to be transported to San Antonio.

Talk to the Marine Corps Recruiter nearest to you. Get scheduled to take the ASVEB test at MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station) which takes place in the nearest Federal Building. Pass the medical checks (which suck by the way) and get sworn-in as a poolie. You will receive the 11 General Orders of the Marine Corps, as well as your date for Basic Training which will either take place at the Paris Island or San Diego Marine Recruit Depots. "Every Marine a rifleman first" so everyone receives the same training regardless of MOS. Once you graduate Basic Training, you are stationed according to your MOS and receive specialized training if you qualified for it.

The initiation processing that every Marine must undertake is not easy. Good luck.

The above is not correct, but I did not want to delete it. In order to actually pilot an aircraft, you must be an officer. That means college (a 4-year degree) and OCS with a guaranteed air contract, then TBS, as well as a special flight physical, perfect vision, and a flight aptitude test, which includes general aviation knowledge and alot of math. And those last three are before you even get into OCS. Aircrew can be enlisted.

To begin with I am a Hungarian person that is why I only know the Hungarian conditions of becoming a pilot.

Firstly you must be under 27. Why 27? I do not know.

Secondly you must be in a very good physical condition and your eyesight must pe perfect.

You have to have a foreign language knowledge (if you are English you are lucky because... I think there is no need to explain this, and you have to speak at least one more foreign languages.)

That is all or in other words those the conditions I am familiar with.

Sign your life over to the government! Just as you would with any other branch of the military. Of course there will be both physical and mental testing involved.
