Whatever you feel like writing. If you're sending a postcard, where the writing is openly visible, you would want to use discretion in what you wrote on it. Or, if you wanted him to suffer it out a little bit, you could do like what someone did to me and write something like, "Well, I was very surprised to hear that your Drill Sergeant is gay and that he wears a navel ring..." on a postcard. Although he probably wouldn't be too happy with you for that.
