In the US the document is known as the Material Safety Data Sheet or MSDS as it is often referred to. It gives you the information on the hazards involved with handling the certain chemical, such as how flammable it is, what chemicals/compounds it is made of, the PH, how it interacts/reacts with other types of chemicals, the personal protective equipment necessary when handling it, etc. The manufacturer of the chemical is required to supply the MSDS of the specific chemical.
