salpingo oopherectomy is the removal of the ovarian tubes (salpingo) AND ovaries (oopherectomy). This can be either unilataral (one) or bllateral (both). Foolowibf bilateral salpingo oopherectomy you will not be able to get pregnant and will be placed into immediate menopause if premenopausal. Your risk reduction of ovarian cancer will be reduced drastically and in pre menopausal women the risk of Breast cancer is also reduced by up to 50%.
