You can also use epsom salts to clear up acne... make a strong solution (3 T to 1 1/2 c hot water) and soak a face towel in it. Wring it out and place on your face for up to 20 minutes twice a day. You can also use it in the bath (18oz per tub) and soak in it at least 30 minutes a day for body acne.

I've also made the hot towel and sprinkled extra salts on the surface, folded the towel to begin gently dissolving the salts and then opened it back up and placed it on my forehead to clear up blemishes.

Epsom salt is not actually salt but a natural mineral compound of about 10 percent magnesium and about 13 percent sulfur-often referred to as magnesium-sulfate. Epsom salt is highly soluble and easily taken in by plants when combined with water and sprayed on leaves. As a soil additive, Epsom salt becomes soluble with soil moisture and is drawn up into plants through the roots.

A magnesium or sulfur deficiency in the soil can cause tomato plants to grow small and spindly, so the addition of epsom salt as a fertilizer allows the plants grow large and have a better fruit yield.
