This chapter, which is unique to John's Gospel, is a sermon intended to highlight the divinity and mission of Jesus, and show that he alreadyknew that he would die. Presumably, a divine Jesus did not need to communicate with God in this way and at this time, especially as he was about to spend three hours praying in the garden. But, as a sermon, it provides the reader something important to think about.
In this section of Scripture (John 17:20-26), Jesus is praying for the future Church and believers. In this particular verse, He is praying that the future Church be united just as He is united with God.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Jesus is the light (John 14:6) so if we walk with him in faith we not only have fellowship (friendship) with him but he also washes away all our sin.
John 17 is Jesus' prayer to the Father in heaven. First Jesus prays for Himself as He is facing a terrible death on the cross. A death that gives mankind a way to be reconciled back to the Father. Included is praise to the Father and a thankfulness that He has endured to the end and finished the work.
Secondly Jesus prays for His disciples (6-19).
Thirdly, Jesus prays for all believers (20-26).
Jesus Christ is truly the Savior of the world and this pray clearly shows His love not only to the Father, but also for his personal disciples and all believers, then and now.
I would say..... John 3:16+17

One popular and meaningful Bible verse for a butterfly tattoo is 2 Corinthians 5:17, which reads "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" This verse symbolizes transformation and renewal, similar to how a butterfly undergoes metamorphosis.
