An Austrian Business man named Emil Jellenik with a daughter named Mercedes Jellenik who was very wealthy and had connections with the Daimler-motoren-gesellschaft corporation... demanding that they deliver more horse power and more vehicles his funding and demand for the vehicles earned him a sales agreement with them in 1900 fot 36 vehicles with 8 horsepower engines to bear the name "Daimler-Mercedes" he purchased these vehicles in 1900 for the total sum of 550,000. In 1926 Daimler Mercedes Merged into Mercedes Benz, Embracing the 3 pointed star design with a laurel wreath wrapped around it- the emblem still used today!
