[Edit] |
[Edit]
This college opened in 1876 with the name Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas. In 1963, the Texas Legislature changed the name to Texas A&M University, as it had expanded its offerings in academic study. The letters "A&M" no longer have and purpose other than being retained as a link to this college's past.
