Codiene is an opiate so unfortunately it registers as just that. Codeine is a precursor of morpheine and after it metabolises it changes to morpheine. So unless your test can distinguish somehow which drug you have taken, its anyones guess whether you were shooting heroin or taking cold and flu pills.

∙ 12y agoAbsolutely. It will show up as morphine. If you have a prescription, they will verify it, knowing it does metabolite into 10% morphine. Codeine itself does not relief pain, it's the metabolite from codeine of morphine that is believed to be the pain reliever. It will not show up as codeine on a urine test, but as morphine.
