I have read many documents in Chile about these long tailed chinchillas, as it goes it says that long tailed chinchillas look like rabbit more than the domestic chinchilla, there theeth are short and there paws soft,chubby and furry. I have two domestic chinchillas, i found out that there tail had a extra piece of bone at the top and there tail also hold another secret bone wich know one knows whats its for. many vets would say this is untrue, but i usure you that it is true and that the short tailed chinchilla looked alot like a domestic chinchilla, but had chubby feet and paws but its boady was agile.
