We raise chickens in our backyard and a whole dressed chicken normally weigh about 1 kilograms and a half. A live chicken with all their feathers weighs a little more heavier.
Cornish Game "hens" under 3 pounds, broilers 3 to 7 lbs and roasters over 7 pounds. Laying hens can be as small as a 2 pounds (Bantam) or a really big hen can go 8-10 pounds. This is just a general rule of thumb, not an exact measurement, as there are always a bit of variation.
Whole chickens weigh different amounts, depending upon their size. Whole chickens generally weight between 2 and 7 lbs., with the average chicken weighing about 3.5 lbs.

Here are the sizes and weights of eggs you will see at the store.

US egg sizes

Egg sizes Average weight

Jumbo 2 1/2 oz (71g)

Extra-large 2 1/4 oz (64g)

Large 2 oz (57g)

Medium 1 3/4 oz (50g)

Small 1 1/2 oz (43g)

Peewee 1 1/4 oz (35g)

However chickens do lay even smaller eggs than these. I personally have had eggs lain by a young bantam hen that were no bigger than a bean

WITH OR WITHOUT WATER INJECTED TO IT?

Live chicken There is no real "growth chart" as there are over 175 breeds of chicken from Banties to birds raised for meat. Broilers are the birds raised for meat and the industry is huge so this is where I will take the stats from. Cornish rock hens 2.85 lbs Young broilers 4.1 lbs Finished broiler (market) 6 to 6.5 lbs

Information gathered from U.S. statistics, 4H clubs and U of Florida

The cost of a hen varies from country to country. Its value is also determined by the breed and the source of purchase. In North America a day old broiler chick from a Hatchery can be purchased for as little as one dollar or less depending on how many you purchase. Specific breeds and show birds can demand very high prices.

In general a run of the mill laying pullet can be purchased for under $5. and give you two or three years of egg production for very little feed cost.
