A red moon or "blood on the moon" is sometimes referred to in witchcraft which symbolizes that a loved one is in danger or dead.

A red sun is typically thought to predict the weather patterns for sailors. "A red sun in the morning, sailor's warning. A red sun at night, sailor's delight."

It doesn't "mean" anything. The moon appears reddish orange when it's very near the horizon, and it might also be that color when it's well above the horizon if there's a lot of particulate matter (smoke) in the air.

What does it mean when the moon turns orange red?

I'm pretty sure it means that something really bad has or is going to happen to you or someone you know. But I don't know completely? That's when a lunar eclipse occurs. The Sun earth and moon have lined up exactly, with the Earth between the moon and the sun. The earths shadow is cast onto the moon. It turns red because the earths atmosphere seperates all of the colours from the sun, we see the red part of the spectrum on the moon.
