What does a tornado look and sound like?

Answer:
Tornadoes vary in appearance. Most appear as a cone or funnel shaped extension of the clouds, extending toward the ground with a swirl of dust or debris where the vortex meets the ground. Some tornadoes look like vertical columns extending between the cloud and the ground, while small ones may look like needles or ropes. Some tornadoes are enormous, looking as if an entire section of the thunderstorm has lowered itself to the ground. See the ralate links below for photographs of tornadoes.
Tornadoes have been described as sounding like waterfalls, jet engines, and, most often, the roar of a train.
