Alot of times it is to cover up an old scar, but I find it very elegant and sexy on a woman, and on a man very sophisticated.


I don't know what it means, but I do know a lot of people are concerned with tattooing completely around a limb (arm band, wrist band, anklette). It's a superstition that afterwards you will lose that limb in some way or another.
