Best Answer

Sometimes, the length of your actual address may not be able to be contained on just one line. Furthermore, some people prefer to have their apartment number or suite number on the second line of their address, for easier scanning.

"address line 1" and "address line 2" simply means your home address, or any address where you want the mail to go to.

It's basically asking you where you live.

Here's an example:

"address line 1": 123 Main St (St = Street)

"address line 2" : apartment 4 ("apt 4" for short)

It's reserved for apartment, suite and box numbers.

For instance, if your address is:

14925 North Archibald Lane

Apartment 205

Or

2609 East Rosa Parks Blvd

Suite 400

It makes sorting and delivery easier for the post service that handles your mail or packages, thereby enabling them to get it to you faster.

Even if the whole thing fits on one line, it's best to use both because, as mentioned, it helps reading and sorting.

An address line is the location of the file or folder you want to look at. For example: C:\Users\Elliot\Documents\ would be an address line to my Documents folder.

Where is the address located on a letterhead?

Depends on whether you mean the printed letterhead address. That would be at the top, in the center of stationery. If you mean the address to whom you are sending the letter, it would be on the left side, several lines separating that from the letterhead address on top. The inside address, you type the several lines for the name and address, then skip one line and put the date there, skip another line and put the salutation, "Dear Horatio," or Charlie, or whoever.
