Bundling was a sort of courtship that was used in the time of the early settlers and Western expansion. It involved putting a boy and girl into bed, placing a board in between them and wrapping blankets around them. They would be unable to move, or even hold hands, but it was warm and gave them a bit of privacy to talk without any danger of anything unmoral from happening.
