It completely depends on what one values as 'qualities' in a character.
Usually people will talk about things like:
Courage, Honesty, Integrity, Kindness, Loyalty etc.

A "quality" may be similar to a "character trait". For example, the quality of "honesty" could be a character trait. But character traits are deeper and broader than qualities, in my opinion.
It depends on what the character's role in the storyline is. But generally, if it is a good character, the character themselves will not shut up about what their qualities are and will keep pointing...
