A cow's udder can get to where they are able to produce 50 gallons per day. Holsteins are the top dairy breed that is known to produce a lot of milk. A cow's udder that is full can get to be around 18 to 24 inches in diameter.

Most dairy cows' udders are pinkish white to a light tan; Holsteins tend to have the pinkish udders, whereas Jerseys and Brown Swiss have the lighter tans. Beef cows like Angus have black udders; beef cows that are red or brown have brownish udders, etc. Tarentaise tend to have brownish udders with dark teats.
