It is about making a decision, a choice. A person who is decisive is able to make a clear distinction between options. A decisive battle is one where there is a clear margin of victory, it is easy to decide who has won & lost. I'm not really sure if I am indecisive or not ! To decide is to make a choice, one who is decicive is able to choose without delay or question.
