What does it mean for a person to be 'thick'?In: Idioms and Slang |
[Edit] |
To say that someone is thick means that the person stubborn and rather stupid, unwilling to learn from experience. Thick meaning plump is not generally used all by itself. Thick-waisted might be said, not just thick.

Well, it's not a flattering term, as you may have guessed. To be called " thick " means you are being called "bone-headed", or "blockheaded". Another definition of "thick", besides the obvious one, is "heavy-set" or "stocky", as in reference to a person. And one more definition is meaning "dense". I think the only way I like the word thick is with my pizza crust or in a milk shake! LOL
It means that you are either stupid or fat.
Being thick means that you are either not very smart or a little plump.
