No subscript after a chemical symbol in a chemical formula means that there is only ONE of that element in the molecule concerned.

NaCl means: 1 Na and 1 Cl in one molecule, it is sodium chloride

K2Cr2O7 means: 2 K and 2 Cr and 7 O in one molecule, it is potassium bichromate

A lack of a subscript for an element in a chemical formula is equivalent to having a subscript of 1. By convention we just don't write the 1.
