Dreams often are overly dramatic and exaggerated. In this example, the shooting could represent an argument or discussion in which someone's opinion was "shot down." Other people in dreams frequently represent some part of the dreamer's own personality. So this example could reflect the dreamer's feeling of being "shot down" or defeated at work, in a relationship or some other area of life.

It usually means that the person is not worth staying in your life, and or it means that the person is guilty for something.

Dreams often contain puns or word-play. While this dream might concern anger or the fear of violence, it is just as likely to be about a shot in the arm or a shot of liquor. The shot could also be the dreamer's "last shot" at something desired.

The dreamer feels injured in some way that is not visible. Emotional pain, damage to one's pride or dignity, or difficulties on the job do not draw the comfort and sympathy one might need. But getting shot would cause an actual wound demanding immediate medical attention. So this dream may emotional comfort by picturing the dreamer's invisible pain as a physical injury resulting from a violent attack.

Dreams do not mean anything. They are random firings of neurons in the brain.

As this is the Dreams and Dream interpretation category, the following answer will address the question.

Dreams communicate in metaphors. In this dream, "getting shot" is not predicting any future event but is a figurative image, similar to the common expression, "Oh, she shot him down!" referring to a cutting insult. Dreams are about the dreamer, so this dream might be about the dreamer's feeling insulted (shot down) or about the dreamer's anger toward someone else.

As you most likely already know, a dream is determined By your own subconscious. It can reveal your feelings toward a person, as the person you dont like may get shot in the dream. It could also be subjected to your surroundings, as there could have been a loud noise that your brain interpreted as a gunshot, or you could have been watching a violent movie before going to bed. Whether it was you shooting a person or a person getting shot is another matter entirely.

First let us see just what dreaming means shall we? Dreaming is a series of mental images and emotions occurring during sleep. If something has made a deep impression upon our mind then it may be played back to us in a dream, though the circumstances in the dream may be played out differently. All events in our lives are stored within our subconscious mind and come to the fore of our mind in the form of dreams at times. To dream of someone being shot I would suggest is something you may have remembered which you viewed happen in a film. I certainly would not put any store in it meaning anything else but a dream and not something that will eventually happen.

Seeing things in dreams does not mean anything in the sense of foretelling the future or as an omen. Your dreams reflect your day to day life. in many parts of the world seeing someone shot or who has been shot recently is a common occurrence. In other parts violence in movies and TV shows is common enough to work its way into dreams

What does it mean if your friend gets shot and killed in your dream?

Dreams such as this should not be taken literally. The dream presents an overly dramatic metaphor representing something such as an argument or disagreement with someone - perhaps with this friend, but perhaps with someone else. The dream might also use "get shot" as a play on words, as when "she really shot him down" refers to a clever and timely insult.
