That is a natural part of the healing process but you are still contagious. Up utill the cold sore is completely gone you can still pas it on.

Don't touch the cold sore, if you have to wash your hands after touching it. Don't cover it with mke up, that will only aggravate the sore. Apply some cream like Abreva to the sore regulaly to help speed up the healing process.

If your cold sore is yellow it means that it is seeping out with pus, and maybe the pus has dried overnight. This shouldn't be taken as a worry, all you need is to by some good cold sore removing cream or just standard cream such as sudocrem. This will heal the cold sore and stop it from getting infected and turning to a strange colour. Once heeled the best thing to do is keep putting standard cream or lip solve on it so it will prevent the cold sore from coming back. Also cold sores are contagious so if you go near someone with a bad cold sore then you might get the cold sore so once you have got rid off it be sure to keep adding cream, when the temperature is cold. If its warm then you should be fine because cold sores happen as a result from mild temperatures.
